We had a very hard time getting information online about portable scratching then. So we decided to post these on IG to help anyone who were in the same boat as us.
One of the first things I noticed about the #Handytrax was that it had no rubber feet to keep it from sliding. Made sense it didn't come with since it's made to use for digging. I used rubber bumpers (usually found under the glass tops of coffee tables) and mount it on the tips of the moulded plastic feet of the bottom casing. I got mine free from the parts and repair counter at Ikea. #vestax #RaidenFader #skratcher #portablefader
(*Update – I have since found some anti-skid rubber stickers made for furniture. It lasts longer and is less visible. I’ll post it shortly)
Here's a tip for the lazy mofos like me who leaves their scratch record on the turntable when travelling. I used a rubber end cap from a pipe and placed it on the spindle. Keeps the record from falling out of place when carrying. You can find these at a hardware store. I'm sure that you can use an elastic band to do the same job as well. #RaidenFader #skratcher #portablefader #portablist
Next is keeping your shit together. This is a give in. Personally can't stand digging in a backpack of spaghetti wires. I used a camera lens pouch to to carry my cords, plugs and #RaidenFader If don't have one, you can pick one up of those media carrying pouches at the dollar store. #skratcher #portablefader
The portable speaker game is a whole different world to venture in. I picked up the #Skullcandy #AirRaid because I'm a sucker for military design. I find the volume is loud enough to get your cuts noticed in public. Battery life is great. Had to recharge once a week of 1-1.5 hr sessions a day. I'm sure there are other speakers out there that are better but this suits my taste. PS - my son got water and sand on it and it took it like a champ. #RaidenFader #skratcher #portablefader #portablist
